How does it work?
The Aqua Catcher is a reversible flange that can be installed during construction, or retro fitted, to achieve the best possible seal of wall stop installations.
Construction
In wet areas, it is integrated with the water proofing membrane to seal the wall and allows the tap spindles to be removed without damaging the membrane. This is required for the installation to comply with Australian standards.
The Aqua Catcher goes one step further and allows the gap between the waterproof membrane and tiles/sheeting to be sealed, preventing possible grout/tile discoloration or mould from water trapped in the space.
Retro fit
There are many existing wall taps installations that aren’t sealed properly. The Aqua Catcher seals over tiles/sheeting, allowing for ease of tap maintenance and prevention of water ingress.
This is achieved by the installer shaping the flange and using silicon to seal the flange onto the tap body in the wall and the tile/sheeting surface. Cutting it to suit allows the Aqua Catcher to fit most wall stop installations and the tapware being used.
It can also be installed without removing the tap spindle. Plumbers will see this as a great advantage as they will no longer have to deal with large amounts of water entering the wall cavity during maintenance due to the main stop not shutting off property, or hot water systems draining themselves.
